Sorry for the desperation, but I am ready to go out and pick this up along with an Aviator and have a great time. There is one thing holding me back that no one has commented on: how is the lag online?, (preferably in the US)

Please help a desperate sim fan and post impressions on this so I can hit the shops before close.

I never found a game being hosted and I couldn't host a game. So I don't know.

Hey everybody, I finally bought the game on 360.
Game atmosphere is amazing, it's like being in the fight scenes of the movie "Pearl Harbor". One of the missions takes place on a big city, there is so much smoke that half of the town is in the dark, it's wonderful.

Now I find there is motor sounds variations, even if it's not as hearable as in 1946. But enough for me. I also found on the Hurricane damages are always the same at the same places. You can't crash on trees, you can go through parachutes without damaging them.
Just a few slowdowns when there is a lot of smoke very close, but nothing serious. Sometimes sound lags at the end of mission.

My worst disappointment is still the missing cockpits, from the BF109 to the B25. It will keep me in the "realistic" mode in multiplayer, because I find it very unfair that there is better visibility for the ones without cockpits. And I can't accept "virtual cockpit" in WW2 flight simulation game.

There is multiplayer server already, but it's hard to find people. But it's the first day. The weather conditions are amazing, especially the raining one, where you can get above the clouds to find blue sky.
On 360 tonight the leaderboard only contains arcade records. I only played two friendly matches.

Anyway, to me the game is amazing, a few disappointments but all the fun I was waiting for. Thank you Gaijin.

I've been playing now for 2 hours straight, the only reason I'm posting is to let my xbox cool down (If I got the RROD right now I'm afraid I would cry like a 13 year old girl at a Jonas Brothers concert).
This game is amazing! It more than beats my expectations of what could be done on a console. The enemy fighters are not very difficult I'll give you that (but I'm still on the Battle of Britan, hopefully it gets harder as you go like most console games). The graphics are amazing, I never thought there could be so much action going on with the 360's antiquated hardware without slowdown.
I only have 2 complaints (wishes really). I really wanted there to be a video replay option (the graphics are too good & this is a waste IMHO). I also wish that you could play in simulator mode with the visual cues (even sitting right in front of my 32" plasma it is just too hard to find/recognize targets in Sim). I know it is supposed to make it more realistic, but hardware can not reproduce (and probably never will) what the human eye can see/correct in your brain.
I can't say anything about multi as the servers in the US have not been turned on yet (I assume they will be up on the 8th). But as for now I am blown away by what they have done as far as a sim on a console. Major kudos to Anton & the rest of the team on an effort that has passed my expectaions beyond my wildest dreams.

Oh god, I feel a tear comming on....don't look it's too embarassing
