So, is this tweak useless?

Yep, I tried in past set the Depth buffer to 32, killing the Stencil buffer to 0, but I saw no difference in performance or graphics so my guess is that change those values have no effect because they are there as placeholders.

Bug when joining MP servers is terrible - I can see the flags but cant select one, or cant see them at all. This happens about 80% of the time for me when joining MP servers - (in this case ATAG)

After a couple of days of fiddling & using,I may go back to what I had before patch ...maybe even do an entirely fresh install. Here are my niggling problems some of which undoubtedly others have had as well:
1.) My onscreen plane customizer no longer works. When I change cammo or markings generally nothing happens, however in flight I do have the "new" plane. 2.) Initially inflight ib cockpit, exterior parts of my plane appear white.Hitting exterior view I have cammo'd plane.Hitting interior view again ,I now look out on cammo'd/marked aircraft. 3.) Lots of wierd things happening in various cockpits , already noted in detail by others in this thread. 4.) No real increase in FPS...at least not enough to deal with the problems this patch seems to have caused. I do have a serious question : I saved both Stem & 1cSoftclub folders before patch.Would it be better at this stage to simply use these to overlay what I have or do a fresh reinstall...or for that matter simply delete the new patched "Parts" folder & slap in the old one in its place? What for the Official Steam Patch & continue to grumble under my breath...? (Or should I place this post in technical issues?) Damage decals seem much reduced, I'm not seeing any individual bullet holes or trails of smoke or oil from motors. Also, debris is sparse.

I add to all those who reported new CTD for Launcher in MP - after 10-20 minutes in the air game lock-ups and freezes. Files sent. I consider this CTD very serious as it makes game worse than before. I hope it will be addressed soon.

Dont know where to start, some bugs anyway already reported, CTD is new for me too, it seems two steps back are been done overall, very dissapointing.
With all the graphic clitches, I am asking myself, how this could pass, even as "beta"? Last edited by MoGas; 05-07-2012 at 04:16 PM. |

This is definitely an alpha. Probably will be a few other alpha releases before a beta comes along.
All in all this is a step in the right direction. I started having crashes where I didn't before. I could easily say its a step back but I have to be more objective about this. It's smoother to me. No CTD in bombers yet and that could easily be reproduced within 10 minutes. That is gone. Just send in your crash files and lets get this done. I'd hate to have to fix everyone's particular setup but this is what you get when you develop for PC's and not consoles. Get busy and play a lot. Enable log=1 and flood'em. Sooner we get this done the better. |
