Dunno what to make of this.. I like it up till the point you see the 109 cockpit.

At least it shows there's a market of some description.

Release Date: 27 May 2011

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars is an arcade flight simulation set in a world war I+II scenario.
During the 7 campaigns the player has to fly and fight through over 48 missions. Before taking off, the player can choose between different aircrafts, each with different strengths and weaknesses.
Within the missions the player gets different objectives like patrolling, sneaking, hit & run, bombing and escorting. Objectives are presented as dialogues between different characters. After some missions the player can upgrade one of his skills in order to maneuver the airplanes easier, have more endurance or have your wingman boosted. Further, the player can choose between two control schemes. Arcade and simulation. The first one makes the game easier to control, while the second one gives more options to control the aircraft.
Beside the campaign the game also features several multiplayer modes, local and via internet for up to four players.

Features:

Seven campaigns, each based upon a resistance movement of the second world war
Uniquely historical battles such as the siege of Tobruk, the battle of the Neretva Bridge, and Operation Belt in Poland
Fight for the causes of key resistance movements such as the People's Liberation Army and Partisan Detachments of Yugoslavia, The Polish Armia Krajowa, and the French Maquis
Action-packed gameplay delivers the excitement of serial combat in a manner accessible to everyone
Over twenty different landscapes, each individually detailed with period precision
Pilot more than 16 individual aircraft, in both World War One and World War Two settings
Machine gun your enemies, dog fight, bomb ground targets and rocket ground troops and enemy vehicles
49 varied missions provide combat, stealth and exploratory gameplay
The player controls his aircraft with either mouse and keyboard or gamepad
The player can choose between two control schemes: Arcade and simulation. The first one makes the game easier to control, while the second one gives more options to control the aircraft
Several multiplayer modes, local and via internet for up to eight players

Well, the ground units have a lot better detail than BOP, that's for sure. Everything else looks pretty cartoon-y. They also seem to feature bombers heavily. Which might be cool.

Three years old, it just goes to show how impressive BoP is.

Ah but it does have the Meteor and MOSQUITO!
Its hust a shame they look pants compared to BoP's planes.

If it gets good reviews I might pick it up once it gets cheap, which I expect will be quickly.

This Dorothy Berbec sounds like an awesome character though. I want to meet her lol

Sorry to disagree with you. The way the soldiers blow up in pink pool of blood, made laugh out loud.
The year is 2011 and we are past the Wolfenstein bloodsplash of the 90´s.

lol ... i`watshed the trailer and it was like i said. good pictures but in movement you see that its an arcarde game like the heros over europe and so on... i hope something like a simulator is in there... otherwise it will not kick il2. lets wait for the demo...

AND BY THE WAY!!! THESE PROGRAMMERS OVERRATE EVERYTHING BUT NOT THE BF109. WHERE ARE BOMBS? WHAT IS WRONG WITH GERMAN AIRFRAMES???

Totally agree that it's no IL2 sadly. I would hope though that a little competition in the marketplace will mean that at least an IL2 sequel may be considered for consoles. And yes I know what Anton said in his interview but that was about as convincing as Gaddaffi is currently being.

Why? Because the sad fact is that history is always written by the victor. Harsh perhaps, but sadly that's the way it is! Anyone with half an ounce of intelligence knows that these things tend to be biased. IL2M/ IL10's for example!!!!

PS: SHOUTY CAPS not needed as these convey an aggressive attitude
