Hi Keith,

I was there with my wife about four years ago. We stayed in a Folkestone hotel on the sea-front (CoD's rendition of the town is surprisingly accurate) and the next day headed for the museum.

It was blisteringly hot day! The museum is run by enthusiasts/ volunteers and has no Government help. What a surprise!!

It occupies about all that is left of Hawkinge airfield. The rest is a modern housing estate. And a very impressive museum it is. The camera ban is counter productive in my view. More photos = more publicity = more visitors = more money. Anyway, that's my untried financial equation...

There's a pub nearby that pilots during the Battle of Britain used to frequent. It now has many photos and models. I wasn't driving, so I managed a few in honour of the Few.

We've been to Dover many times and stayed locally. You can't beat the cliff top views. On a bad day, you can see France...

Best Regards,
Bob.
