It was at least a mile over the line, no, two miles! More like millimetres... If it had stood it would have been unfair as the person that passed the ball to the striker was offside when the ball was played through to him.

An engineer friend of mine says that a tiny sensor can be placed in the ball, with sensors fitted on a frame behind the posts, and if it goes in a green light can show - no need for review or Hawkeye etc.
