Don't get me wrong... I don't think MW is the best game in the world... Nor do I expect MW2 to be the best game of all time...
But your statement makes no sense. MW2 is poised to be the #1 selling game of all time. (Unless you want to count Wii Sports into the equation)
Soooo... The game has over 2,000,000 preorders for both platforms... And that was a month ago. Yeah... IW is definitely on a death spiral. And like you Lex... I can definitely tell you that MW 2 is going to be garbage... Because we've both spent hours already playing it.
AND... If there's problems with the game... I doubt Infinity Ward is going to be able to put out patches to fix any issues. (That was a direct shot at 505)/Sarcasm
Lex... Your statement was just plain ignorant my friend.

Its not ignorance my friend, its experience. Ive seen exactly the same circumstances of a dev houses failures and I see the same pattern emerging with IW.
You see its like this; First of all they have basically given the PC gaming players the finger and told them that there will be no basic PC features in the title, everything will be console generic. In other words, no mods, no custom maps, no dedicated servers, no admins.
What that means its that online its going to devolve in to spam fests and camping 24/7 with no way of sorting it (since no admins!). Coupled with constant rage quitters/hackers/bot users/total a-holes/ and TK buddies online mode is going to die a very very quick death.
Now you can say that the console sales should overway these factors, but remember this. Just because I may own a console does not mean I dont also game on PC. So I am one sale thats never going to happen on any platform. Now expand that to the general number of console owners and you seeing a sales hit already. If you go by the number of people who have signed the petition against MW2, and that holds true of lost sales then that is one serious financial hit.
Now Im not saying the dev house is going to die overnight, its not Flagship studios (what a failure!) but once you loose what is considered a core fanbase you loose respect. Similar design decisions are taken again and again, and it in turn alienates more and more of the fanbase till your hanging on by a thread.
