lancer, have a little look-see at the pic on the previous page... your picture with the other pic's post-processing could be awesome as well. The previous one is pretty fascinating, imo ^-^

I have Not touched a normal map. All ive done is changed some specular textures visually, and specular values in a config file only. that config is the combined material.mma file. all the specular textures are in the same folder. then the post processing is as ive already explained.
Ah, that does give a pleasing effect.

If you're going for a WW2 look, you'll need to compress the dynamic range. Try the curves or levels tool in photoshop.

Lancer- according to this link the picture was taken at 6.48pm on 7th October 1940.

I've also seen it noted that it was taken at 5pm.
I like your effort but it needs more shadow highlights to match the later time of day.
