Thanks for the videos, Nike.
Did you notice any stuttering when you were messing around with the game?
It seems to run fairly well on your system.

The building pop-up in the first video is dreadful and seems to happen all over, not just at a certain distance. Can it be adjusted?
Happens with the trees also...

yea i am noticing the same, and the worrying part of it is that the player is on an i7 cpu and even if the gfx card is not top of the line it has 1gb in ram iirc. lots of texture fill rate issues to, once the buildings pop up you can see the textures filling in blocks as the players plane gets closer to them

this was not an issue at all in the older video previews we had see so far, so without the ubi-filter and fraps draining further fpsec's we should be ok. the way it stands right now my little i5 and 5770 card (1gb mem) doesnt stand a chance. lets keep the faith a little longer however, with the ubi filter removed and without fraps we should be ok, fingers crossed hopefully in the next few days we'll hear further news on fixes for this provided in the first patches, gives us enough time before the due release date in the west to decide

Looks good, only drawing distance is too small

This is very nice, i actually really like the external sounds as well, thanks Nike-It.
I don't think it sounds like the original IL2 sounds at all tbh, gj.

I didn't make any special changes in the settings, just left everything as it was after installation.
And one more thing, I'm a very unskilled virtual pilot so please don't take them seriously in the field of realism and quality of flying.

The average FPS for all videos is 30, the lowest is 22 the highest 67.

Don't blame me for not very interesting gameplay, I simply didn't have time to prepare quality ones. I just want to show, that the game even in the current not optimized and polished version is still more then playable just from the box. And as Luthier stated today, the devs will do their best to support the project and create the game we all want to see.
Cheers
This is what the game looks like on normal settings? You got to be kidding me. The Ultra pack 2.1 in Il2 looks better than this (okay maybe a bit over-drama but anyway)
Look the way the ocean / water hits the ground...looks just like it is patched over. Look at the buildings pop-in. The colours. horrible.
Rise of flight who came out in 2009 looks 10 times better than this on MEDIUM settings!
I play rise of flight now with highest settings and people I know who is not into flight sims bought a new computer because of it and got hooked cause it is so damn realistic and looks so damn good.
But I will buy this anyway. Cause i love battle of britain, and I love spitfires and ww2 in general.
But god, I really hope it doesnt look like this when I fire it up

These videos give me hope. Thanks for posting. Hopefully the sim will be ready to go by the international release date.

I have RoF too since first day and agree with you domian.
Besides,RoF was a worst failure than CoD at launch and see in what a bealtiful sim it turned now.
Have faith and support the team.
If I could I fix the flaws by my self, but as I am a complete ignorant in software programming, I do my part giving my dollars to MG as a form to help them to work on this.
That's my opinion,of course.

I have to agree, I'm a bit disappointed with how the buildings pop up. The cartoon colours have always been a concern of mine and it turns out they haven't changed it! Someone in the dev team is half colour blind I'm sure!
But I pre-ordered it anyway, because it will still be good even if it's just IL2+.

Yes, Rise of Flight was nowhere near as good at launch as it is now. But there is one difference: because of the online model of RoF they have released update after update (note: an update is not a patch!) making things better and better and adding more and more content. Almost every month/two months there was/is something nice to look forward to.
If CoD follows the same release plan as IL2 did then it will be quite some time before we see any major improvements. That has me worried a bit...(so it better be good!)

Il-2 was one of the first (if not the first) sim to follow such a pattern. If anything, RoF copied Oleg...
