The reflection on the glass I like very much, that's a nice detail. But call me a nutpicker, the shadow's reflection should look rather like in the right example:

The rest of the info is appreciated though.

Happy New Year

The differential of REALLY good sims is detail, and I'm glad we have some chaps like Foo'bar to bother the devs because of the slightest glitch.

Nice eyesight you have there, eh ?

that would be correct if what you were seeing is the reflection of the shadow but that is not the case, the shadow seems to be simply causing the glass to reflect the frame structure differently where it passes over. In any case, raytracing algorithms are completely up to the render engine, so it's not really a issue like an artist having perspective problems. Maybe the bounces are low for performance reasons which causes less detail/realism but the shadows and reflections are calculated as closely as the equation of the renderer allows. So basically, you're arguing mathematics with a computer, which most would consider futile.

I think glass reflection is precalculated, so no dinamic shadow is possible in it.
Shadow in the screenshot reflection is in fact shadow in the glass, not in the reflection.

And IIRC I've played real videos with it already. Very old ones (>5 yo) though. Haven't seen any other real media for quite some time, which is good. Only exception are the samples on Amazon where you can listen to bits of music . They play in VLC without problems.
I still use WMP as default though, unless it's not capable of playing things. And good ol' Winamp for music

BTW: Do we get glass refraction in SoW? I don't want to have 100+ pages threads on the FW-190 bar again

Most likely we'll still get them, but fortunately 6DoF view should help to decrease the issue.

^that's what I was trying to say

...but dynamic shadow is in-fact having some sort of effect on the reflection in the sense it is making the reflection darker where shadows pass over, whatever the case, I'm just glad there are glass reflections at all.
