Happy VE Day Luthier, can't say I can get interested in the future projects until COD is made more stable, and the content within is useable,ie Comms, skins, weathering, and all the other problems we have.

Don't get me wrong,I knew what I was purchasing when I bought COD,but even so,thinking about the future projects at this stage in the game's life before it's fixed is somewhat cheeky IMO,lets walk before we can run eh?

Yeah, happy VE Day! I’m sure most of our grandfathers would be mortified to see us playing a game based on their real-life tribulations, I know mine would. I remember feeling somewhat guilty when successfully dive-bombing the USS Arizona in a Val in ‘Pacific Fighters’, especially knowing the outcome of the mission I was replicating. As you say, hopefully most here will never know the horror of a real war, but this is one way of remembering those who fought so valiantly (and involuntarily).

Even the possible planepool for this scenario looks interesting:
Bf109F, Bf109E-7/B, Bf110D&E, Ju87B, Hs123,Ju88A-5&-4, He111H-6
vs
MiG-3, Yak-1, LaGG-3, P-40B/C, I-153, I-16, Il-2(singleseater), DB-3, SB-2, Pe-2
as main examples

I also , very personaly, would have preferred an early North African , not to say a MTO, AdOn first.....
Also a tactical war with groundsupport but with additonal maritime warfare like carrieroperations and torpedobombers

Not only bad timing but I also had to register to view the screen shots. How disappointed I was when I saw first picture of a dark-black something with no details and then second one that looks just bad.

They are just trying to show that they have the future in mind and that the Storm of War series is here to stay - the first shot is meant to be dark. It's a teaser a hint as to the theater that will be modelled.

The second one is a rather highly detailed render of some (possibly important?) soviet architecture - it's out of context which makes it look strange without any ground - but it is a very detailed piece of work.

They can't possibly patch all the bugs and fix the campaigns in one magical patch, and they have acknowledged that it will take time, but that they are in no way abandoning the sim and have no intention of doing so.

It seems as if Luthier & co are damned if they do and damned if they don't at this moment.

If they release a patch, it won't fix everyone's problems all at once and someone will be left shouting.

If they release information about the future, they're shot down (pardon the pun) for not patching the current issues.

I just hope that the constant belittling of the years of work they have put into this sim doesn't douse the fire that keeps them going.

I sound quite fanboiish in this post, but seriously, have just a little bit more patience.

This thread is just excellent. Fool of idiots moaning how we should get the game running, completely halting development of the next expansion altoghether.

Well you are EFFING WRONG!
The IL2 franchise has shown that those expansions are also code changers, which means lots and lots of bug corrections here and there. 1C is kept busy this way and can release the next product to get some needed revenue. If you don`t understand that then you should not playing the game at all, because you`re just too stupid. If we want this game to exist longer than a year, we NEED expansions as a good form of supporting the devs, and getting something in return. And let me tell you - 1C gives LOTS of content in their expansions.

So go ahead Luthier and tell the guy we`re waiting to spend some more money on your products. You should be warned though - as customers I think we require the first expansion to bring the CloD to functionality of IL2, wich means no big bugs, no show stoppers. Buying the first expansion pack is the amount of trust many of us are willing to give you again, cuz we believe in this game. That said, as a fan of the game, I can`t say that another botched release won`t bring the fanbase growth to a halt.

That said, I can`t help but feel a bit disapointed on the choice of the new theater of operations. I feel bored with Eastern Front. The main thing I`m concerned about is completion of any of them. I thought that the times when 50% of the planes in a coop were AI are already behind us. Now, when we haven`t even started to completing the western front plane pool, you tell us you`re working on another one.
