I like the Guiness bottle myself...I think someone posted it earlier in this thread , but to repeat:www.jamesdietz.com. Its actuallly my publisher's site so it shows mostly military prints , but there are quite a few aviation ones there as well.
To get back to main thrust of this thread ( and as intially posted) the splash screens are pretty bad( clearly no one with any real art background was resposible or expertise in Aviation CG art,)not even as good as the default ones in Il-2 that we are now free to changeat will. One of the main & beautiful strengths of this flawed sims are the screen-shots which are positively gorgeous! I'd love to use them & change them from time to time. There are some very very talanted CG artists who would probably jump at the chance to do great BoB splash-screens,why can't 1C ubisoft see this & change before Battle of Moscow rears its ugly ( yet somehow ,welcomb) head?

For Instance - here are several splash screens from Iron Front...maybe not absolutely terrific but way better than CloD and they are animated!

I'd hope for something roughly similar from our friends at 1c CloD...at least I'd hope for the same quality...

I likes fast planes and cars too...

Would love to be able to put in our own splash screens
James art is awesome! Ubi and 1C should contract his works.

Heck even B&W pics of the era would help . . .

on other topics,

great artwork, btw . . .

. . .

also it is possible to get this game 50 fps with everything (gun smoke, smoke and mirrors j/k) turned on, but it was done on a server platform with 2008 and 7 64 dual boot and a borrowed nvidia card from a crazy graphic editors dream pc build . . . but at close to 8K

When used to run modded version this used to be my
splash screen with video when starting the simulator.
Beginning with BoB ME-110 screen , then lovely
locomotives strafing video and in the end HE-111.
Good old days !
