But the test I did flying offline, quick mission....hmmmm ?

Abyway, good that you moved forward and isolatedthe problem so quickly!

So, if I understood correctly, the german cannons use:
autocannon.ffe when in "non-realistic" gunnery?
shake.ffe when in "realistic" gunnery?

Wow, if you have such talent in searching for the root-cause, why don't you take up the sound-bug issue Nomad?

Hallo Nomad,

I checked my game settings for the quick mission I used to test the cannon for the Bf109 and ME110.

My settings were "realistic gunnery" & "unlimited ammo".

Very interesting...

Thanks Grathos, I wonder why it's only happening for some people then? Maybe there is another setting. I'll test to see what unlimited ammo does to mine.

The most interesting thing Nomad is that you claim that your SW2FFB response is very strong.

I for as much I can tell I think the forces on my SW2FFB could be stronger. It is the feeling of the airplane handling I am talking about NOT the guns.

An old trick from the IL2FB days:
If you find the shooting vibration is badly impacting your aiming, press the trigger while your other four fingers are "open" so that the FFB light sensor is not activated thus no FFB

In my IL2FB Bf109 days, I had the machine guns on the trigger of the SW2FFB (light vibration) and the cannon+guns on a button on my X45 throttle in order to shoot with all guns and minimize FFB ruining my aim.

Just my 2cents...

I'm tearing my hair out because the 'community' here won't answer this question for me. The bf109 uses the wrong forces file for cannon that's why it's so strong.

You can use 'fedit' to edit the forces files. The problem however is that the autocannon.ffe file is not used by the bf109 cannon. At least that's the case for me but NOBODY on this forum wants to confirm that for me. I've raised the question like 4 times......
I've noticed this, too. They really need to switch the me109 cannons to autocannon.ffe in realistic.

Problem SOLVED!!!

Take this folder http://www.box.net/shared/guv5op29t50easivt35i

Use it to replace this Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts\core\FF

And that is it! Soft centring spring, no shaking when shooting, feedback is there but is very mild, not ultra violent like it always used to be.

I was looking for this kind of solution for MONTHS!

I got the files and the idea to substitute from Suhkoi russian forums.

For some reason this method did not work for me with the previous patches, but now I have restarted CloD several times and the changes did stick and continue to work beautifully. Bf109 is now nicely controllable in dives without having to nearly break my joystick.
