To me the beta colours seem to be off, it looks too washed out. In alexmdv's video I think the non beta colours are more realistic.

I think you are correct up to a point. The Patch haze is too strong at short range. Look at the background of your second pictiure, it is hazy to a similar extent to the Patch, but perhaps too blue, whereas the foreground has no haze.

I must admit, I feel like banging my head on the wall when I realise that we sacrificed the fantastic ground graphics in order to have the hazy ones... but anyway.

Alex's video is fantastic - it takes a little of the subjectivity out of the comparison.

Personally I very much prefer the more muted and hazy colours of the beta patch. The overall feel chimes much more with what I expect (and know!) the British countryside to look like.

Interestingly, though, I think the video show up some of the subtleties. I think in the shots of very close externals (the hurri on the ground, the AA shooting) the shadows and "dark" areas are darker in the beta. Graphics dudes can correct me.

But I think those who think there was just a "wash" applied to the whole screen are wrong!

Thus: tweaking would seem to be possible!

Great video Alexmvd!

I like the toned down ground colours, however I like the airplanes better before the Beta patch - they look too dull now.

May I remind you that you can not compare colors and haze in photographs with what you see with your own eyes. Just a simple polarization filter in front of the lense can make a huge difference, without even touching a software tool. You can actually see distant clouds through a polarization filter, which would just fade into the general haze without the filter infront of your camera.
In my opinion are the new colors and the haze far better than before, but I just had short test.

Thats exactly what I thought. I also prefer the new beta ground colours, but the planes look more or less like the old IL2 ones now. Too bad.....

I just read on the Sukhoi.ru forum that Luthier said the improved rendering code (which isn't fully included in this beta patch) will not only bring performance gains, but will bring with it proper FSAA and the possibility to enable tree collisions as well.

Anyone still wants more good news from the devs?

Read this post in FMB section Custom ingame menus introduced http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=25941

This engine rocks!

BTW community needs more C# scripters to make some basic scripts for everyone.
