i'am more worried about the "old bugs" soon we will see if the rework was deep enough.
More correctly a problem with it :

This is the reason behind the low quality textures, a issue between the new textures management and the texture cache.

Everything else is conspiracy theories.

mapping includes cache management yeah, but there is more than than just the low res texture problem, sadly the drivers are still not very ok with the DX code and this is not new.

I've got slightly smoother frame rates for a 10% drop in overall FPS. Landscape looks decidedly like something on Nintendo64 however. It's odd, maybe it's the colour palette or the new blurry look. Can't put my finger on it.

Never mind. Blacksix said they'd have it all fixed up in a couple of days right?

Yup, that what he said. "Couple of days for this, couple of days for that yadiyadiyadi yakidi-yak!"

we don't forget, but... what is the difference between the beta and the current version? except the number at the bottom corner?

the patch should fixe CTD, it's not fixed... and all the little bug like stuka break wheel that still does not work...

in my opinion the dev team is too small... and they wait too long time for asking the community to test beta version... we should have periodically alpha patch for helping the dev to test theire work and for being more reactively that 6 month.

I am sad about the dev.. we are other game for waiting... we can easily switch... but they only have this game...

Luthier, you make "tunnel effect" with your project...
chose among your mature or experienced community for more frequent alpha test and strengthen gradually and not block by block to easily return back to

Here are some thoughts on the new patch thus far...(from a Ju88 pilot's perspective)

Well for me the ctd with the twin engine bombers is much less then prepatch, infact, of the five hours I have been able to test on the ATAG server with Ju88, no ctd's were had and thats while....drum roll please...flying in formation I'll give that 4 grins! thanks devs!

When I pan left/right with tir5 while parked at tramcourt the buildings and fauna appear a bit smoother

With the new nvidia beta drivers fxaa works with little performance cost

Formation flying was a huge issue that if now fixed gives alot of hope for big bomber formations.

I have to agree a bit here.. personally it runs the same for me..i had 1 ctd yesterday after about 2 hours of play so cant comment any further on the issue...didnt see any ghost dots which was my main gripe..

getting the occasional 1 sec freeze but it was on ATAG with around 30ish players and skins were on so im guessing that may have something to do with it

Guys, if you read the patch notes the purpose of this alpha-release is not to make our flying more comfortable or enjoyable but to collect crash-logs and crash-dump files. CTDs of different nature (and specific to user hardware) are hunted and fixed one-by-one as goes from naryv's comment @sukhoi.ru I refer to here http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=31835

They reworked the core of the engine (multi-threading, etc.) and only now they will start fixing bugs with our feedback. Disappointing ATM but still very promising.

The single big improvement for me is with CTD's. I have not had one post patch. Although that is a big step forward the trade off seems to be lower overall graphical quality. The landscape in particular looks like its being viewed through net curtains. I'm not going to touch off a bomb here but compared to another sim I fly it looks awful.

Performance wise I am not seeing anything like the massive increases suggested pre-patch by the devs (in fact its so marginal its neither here nor there) and in terms of fluidity it worked better for me before. I will run it to test for the couple of days but it isn't that much fun due to the poor AI.

Sorry, but if this was supposed to be the 'wow' moment it just wasn't. I think they got put in a corner and had to release something, and something just isn't that great. Overall I think it is buggy, clunky and way off the pace in comparison to its competitors. That is not a rant, just my own personal opinion
