Sorry for the double post, just saw FOZ's post!

Thanks!

First off, it sounds pretty cool and must be much easier with those fabled private rooms. If only I had the money for a 360, I'd be happy to invest some time with the guys on the "other side of the fence".

I'll have a think for you mate, maybe do some free flying - has any one tested how far you can go on limited fuel? I'll run some things on free flight tonight, see what can be achieved.

Have you thought about using another map, just so you can change the bomber and still make it feel authentic?

Took a single engined fighter off from Manston and have flown it to the French coast and back then over Southern England for a while and the fuel seems to last longer than it realistically should.

Their was an obvious issue with WEP though, keeping it on constantly blows your engine

Were going through different ideas for now, as its early days theirs plenty floating about.

Thanks for the help, i appreciate it

Fuel doesn't seem to be the main issue. Most aircraft will last a good 25-30mins with no issues. WEP seems to be the main issue as this does burn out the engine- McQ on Saturday and I think Olife when we did a Sicily map game experienced this. Pity really as the Me163 can manage this length of time when in real life you had 5mins and then you were gliding!

Feel free to move/merge/delete if there is one I missed

The first addition to my pilots log book is from today, yes I'm back in the skys!

I want to thank a few people: JRHOODY1, a0000000000123 (not sure how many 0's. Sorry) McQ, vdomini, themeister and a quite drunk QBlack
(and others)
You all made my first day back behind the joystick enjoyable!

Black's idea for a 1 bomber protected by two guys and taken out by three attackers proved very fun! I flew a blenheim, protected by blaack who flew my wing while Vdomini fought off copious attacks by a0000000000123, Wild_Bill and McQ. We took the long road past Catalonia, straight to the back of the map and round to the top two targets, dropping 2 500kg bombs from about 250ft. That won us the round really. Bloody good fun, even though it was 10 mins of sneaking around the back of map to drop 2 bombs and head home

Hope to play more tomorrow!

As for this thread - post any thankyous or awesome things that happend, here. Great to see so many fliers still! Here's to more hours in the log book!
Great thread!!

A few of us 360 players are currently trying to sort something similar out, its a long way off yet though due to looking for a good target, right altitude to bomb from, route to and from target etc etc.

Had a quick gamethe other night though with Robotic Pope and Bucketman..

Pope was flying a HE-III and had to bomb Hawkinge. For this he started off over France. Bucket was in a 109 a provided lone fighter escort.

I on the other hand fleww patrols from Dover in a Hurricane prepared for them.

After what seemed an eternity i saw a lone shadow in the distance, i had the advantage of height. Upon closer inspection it was the HE-III. using my superior height i dived down upon the bomber and opened up with the 12 brownings. Taking it out rather quickly. Within seconds i had a 109 on my 6, chasing me around the sky.

Didnt matter though... i got the HE-III

We are trying to find the best kind of cover for a bomber if your a fighter. Were still working on it.
