Turn anti-epilepsy filter OFF. When you delete conf.ini the rebuild default one set this to ON.

You won't see "LSD-Trip" anymore and will have a boost in performance.

Also dont forget to check your "processaffinitymask"...I noticed that mine had changed back to default after one of the patches..it had reverted back to default.

dont know if its helpful...
but after i read about the hotfix today, i changed the stereomode in my conf.ini file to 0.after that the buildings appeared again.but i just changed my video settings and turned landshading from low to med, textures from med to high, and shadows from off to on.after the game asked me to restart it to make the new settings work, all the buildings were gone again and a strange value in the conf.ini file appeared regarding stereomode.

Is anyone else having trouble loading their control options with this beta? It just won't do it for me and I don't want to have to set it all up again manually.

Also, try the mission, shut the game down, then try again. The cache folders are empty, but they fill up again with the cache files once you start playing again. Cache files are good things, you just need the right ones. I would leave the most recent patch on for a while. Continue testing. If nothing else, you may get some good info to report to the devs.
For the benefit of the community, i started all over:
-checked anti epilepsy off in game and in the conf.file
-opened Steam and checked:"check integrity of game cache"
-now i'm back to the latest "official" patch
-same mission, same settings, checked fps the moment mission starts: 33 fps
-removed cache files and shader files
-same mission,same settings: 37 fps
-applied patch and Hotfix
-same mission same settings: 18 fps
-removed cahe files and shader files
-same mission same settings: 18 fps
All fps are "average" at the beginning of the mission

Don't see what i can do more, and this is only about fps...didn't test anything else

PS: this is my original post on this matter:
-Steam: checked cache integrety
-deleted all files in cache folder
-deleted all files from "shaders" folder
-all settings to medium,1920x1200
-no AA,SSAO nor Vsync

I guess i am now in the last official patch.

Flew quick mission over Kent, in one Hurri: FPS 33 avarage

Patched to 15866, installed Hotfix

Flew same mission with same settings: FPS 18 avarage ! ! ! ! !

i7 quadcore 965 @ 3.20 Ghz
Nvidia GTX 295
6 gig DDR3 RAM
Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Becoming afraid my FPS will go under 10 with next patch

Obviously, the new patch costs me at least 15 fps on my system ( not the highest end PC but as told not the lower end PC eighter) , and the test is carried out in a objective, standardised way: same settings and same mission every time. Pitty
