Did you configure it yourself or just use the defaults? I cant say that I have had any menu issues that I have seen, but I did make sure to go through and see what it decided to shut off and what it didnt...

Has anyone with an nvidia gtx 570 or 580 with 3 gigs noticed an improvement in the particle effects with the new fix, that is, the massive drop in fps when landing (dust) and when firing cannons (smoke/tracers)? Just curious. Good work, and looks like solid progress.

Well generally defaults are pretty safe, but I would start with stuff like make sure its not shutting off something related to your graphics card and such, I saw that it determined stuff it thought wasnt related to games maybe was.

I think with Gamebooster its better to go through and config yourself, there is alot of stuff it wont turn off that I think it should. Make sure you have the most up to date version to, as with everything...

good luck!

I'm seeing an improvement here on the micro stutters. CTD's are gone (I cannot get it to crash) but I still think they have got big issues with trees and Vsynch- the latter works but at a hell of a hit.

It is going in the right direction but plenty left to do- as it is this game engine just won't fly in a sim based on low level ground attack and defence.

GameBooster ver 3 is pretty modets in what it turns off.. So I agree, use the manual option and I am sure you will be able to turn off alot more. For example, Adobe loves to put things in your start up that sit there doing nothing but taking up mem. But be careful, if there is something running that you are not sure of best to leave it alone

All in all, even if you dont use GameBooster manual mode, it is interesting to at least use it to see all the stuff that is in there and running

The particle effect fix was not part of the alpha patch that is currently under testing.

It seems this patch was mostly about eliminating all the individual bugs that cause a CTD: we fly, we crash, we send them the log files, they look at them one by one and fix each issue.

I guess that once they sort out stability, they'll move on to specific areas of graphics that still cause performance issues.
