I hope that means that the frame rates are really good as well.
They should be if you have the HW for it.

Wow have you seen the level of detail... you can make out panels INSIDE the plane from the view point outside the open side door...

Can you imagine if you can walk around on the ground... and walk up to the plane and enter it like in some FPS... with some "pilot" actions as in GRAW... we could easaly have a combined arm sims....

Imagine Infantry/ground vehicules/air.... maybe even ships....

You got my imagination going in overdrive Oleg...

What does this actually mean for gameplay? I mean, the only reason I can see to make doors openable, is to make it possible for the players to actually move around???+ inside the plane?

Please elaborate
An interesting thought Many times has it been discussed that serious sims and not only BF1942 etc should put some effort in making it possible to walk up to the plane and take a seat. "What has that got to do with serious sims?" the whiner replies - immersion is the reply! Sure making it possible to move around inside a plane will make it harder (getting stuck on the way in or out of the B17 ball turret etc). I would be satisfied with a simple "hit E while close to the plane and watch a standard animation of a pilot entering the plane", or even the BF1942 et al way of "tada, your magically in the seat after pressing E".

Well there are more important stuff but still...

Default Re : B-20 screenshots

I just saw your new B-20 pictures, Oleg. Fantastic job!

The thing I am wondering about is the use of special layers and shader models on the aircraft in BoB:SoW. What will be used for the engine?

I hope it`s just not present on the working 3D model. Take a look at the glass surfaces, I hope Oleg`s team will make that more 'glass-like' with use of the appropriate shader textures (i do not know much about the tech itself), because that stil looks like 'semi-transparent, dark layer-stuff' and not canopy windshield.. with those shaders, bump maps (rivets! panel lines!) increadibly cool and life like looking aircraft can be made.

Don`t get me wrong I like all the new little detail, the hatches, the 'real' model that has details in and out, but I also hope the graphical level is more than just Il-2, with let`s say, triple the polygon count.

In any case, it`s good to see some life signs from BoB:SoW.

Can we expect beta anytime soon? I`d like to participare (again. I did some work with original Il-2)
