I remember the people in IL2 that complained about vulching aswell.. No vulching allowed would be the same as having trees you can fly through without being damaged.. It just wouldn't "feel" real. It's nice to be under attack. Gives you that feeling of urgency, panic, all the good feelings in life .

I know COD is actually a game, but could you imagine the reaction to the debriefing reports?

"Over enemy airbase, No efective air defences in place. During the sortie I observed aproximately 10 E/A aircaft starting up or preparing to take off, although I had ammunition remaining I refrained from attacking the enemy to give the E/A's a sporting chance."

I think that in Real Life(tm) the pilots superiors would have taken a dim view of that account!

Cheers!

+1 !

I like the "vulch only with bombs or rockets" rule (very often used in Il2 46 servers), as in WW2 airbases were often well protected by flak and you could only survive one pass (or not, german 20mm used to scare the sheer out of english ground attack pilots).

Can't the abundance of flak be mimicked with a trigger enabled randomly after a certain amount of time in an area, like a 80mm shell explodes right near your plane if you circle too long around given coordinates?

Um.... wow, that's fairly strong stuff bro. After all, it's just a game for god's sake. If you're getting whacked during takeoff just spawn at another field. Aircraft did get attacked on the ground and while taking off during the war you know. In fact, I think most of us have been chopped on the ground at some point. I certainly have.

Of course, that said, I must put my hand up and confess that I love nothing better than orbiting Hawkeing and attacking Spits just as they go wheels-up. It's just fantastic! OMG...I think I'm developing an erection...

well, I know vulching is accepted in ATAG rules, and I know I can just switch to another airfield, eventually further away too, but those practicing it are still scumbags. as simple as that. specially against sitting targets, which are not at least moving in the takeoff or landing process. After the ATAG_Torian did his thing and destroyed my first plane, I've re-spawned in another plane immediately, right next to the old just-destroyed one, hoping the scumbag got his erection from the first destroyed aircraft and the message to stop doing it..

you might mock it, and call it whining, baby cry or whatever you like, it won't minimize the deed, which is still the same, and shows the "quality" of the people practicing it, and their total lack of moral, empathy, compassion or respect.

the same type of human being saying "in war everything's fair" and pressing the trigger shooting at parachutes, dropping phosphor or napalm bombs over cities and villages, beating and raping women or driving their tanks over children.

the lowest scumbags of them all.
