Cliffs only. I fired up 1946 for a quick mission a while back and shot down five 109s without my spit running out of ammo. The FMs and DMs are too simple compared to CoD for me to enjoy any more.

What you said in your post is true. Its the natural progression of all things. In with the new and people will adopt. You cant prevent it.

I don`t play IL2 : 1946 since 2007 when the game code got cracked. If that didn`t happen I`d probably be still playing. Since then I did a few offline skirmishes and graphics did not feel that outdated. The experience is still very satisfying. However, I`m an an onliner, so CloD coops is what I`m waiting to happen. Anything else doesn`t really satisfy me as it is not worth spending gaming time which I have always shortage of.

Sometimes I jump in my Gustav and fly just for the flying, reminicing good ole times, imagining how awesome the CloD Gustav will be one day.Eitherway, 1946 is the single last game I`d ever delete from my hard drive.

I got CloD the day of release and despite my decent mid range PC, was getting only 3FPS on low settings. After about 30 seconds, CloD would CTD. A couple months later, after some patches, I tried it again with the exact same results.
I would love to fly CloD but find myself still enjoying '46.

IL2 1946 CooP missions.

CoD has no real content, for me its just a dogfight game, boring.

I have tried to be faithful .................... but IL2 1946 just works in all areas,
especially altitude bombing and mud moving.

I do far more modding than playing, however I kept it just for the fact that it now has the Jetwar pack and many other modern aircraft, modelled and simulated quite well for this old sim. I no longer fly the other aircraft, CoD is just too realistic in comparison and I can never go back to flying spitfires or 109's in 1946.

This.

At the moment i'm flying in a SEOW, and in an internal squad North Africa event, and nothing in CLOD comes close to this as an online experience imo, plus of course regular CO-OP nights.

Dogfight servers just don't hold any interest for me. Period.

Waiting for CLOD to offer a better online experience.

- 1946 with HSFX for SEOW and other online wars with my squad (6S)
- 1946 with UP3 with my squad mates to have some quick fun in DF servers such as Zeke or Spit
- CloD, mostly alone, because only a couple of squad mates can/want play with it.

The problems retaining my squad mates from passing to CloD are mainly:

1. defective FMs (stall, dynamic stall, ceilings, G limits)
2. lack of multiplayer content (call it coop or whatever)
3. low performances even with good machines = low settings needed

Cheers,
Ins

I'll definitely get back to CloD when the new patch comes out. For now, the Steam account is seeing really little action.
