How is multiplayer?

I played the demo (PS3) and I liked the game but I am still undecided. I only really buy a game for multiplayer and wanted to know how it is and what are your thoughts. I've gotten burned in a lot of games and really want to avoid spending money on a game with really bad multiplayer (worms, gta4, civilization)

from what I read the first day or two was bad but most console multiplayer games usually are.

do a lot (or enough) people play on PSN?

is it difficult (time consuming) to find a game?

is it stable enough?

what mode do most people play? (arcade sim or realistic)

are there ranks, levels or leaderboards for this game?
