Default Il-2 Cliffs of Dover b. 2011 - d. 2012

Spitfires, as they appear in my imagination. According to Ilya, this looks completely wrong; they're your babies after all, and if you want to trash them, no mere mortal can stop you.

Thanks Kristorf, checkmysix and Shado for the skins!

erm... ?!? Is this about the skins? Well, exactly for this reason, there ARE skins to change. Everyone can have his/her own Spitfires!

Agreed.

The only thing stopping skin DLs online are the server hosts.

Maybe he's talking about the poorly optimised weathering layer. Those shots are all fairly old I think.

I'm glad that at least you are able to see the difference between properly displayed skins and the currently "poorly optimised weathering layer", as you tactfully describe it.

These shots were made by me yesterday in the latest steam version of CloD, after I rolled back a "bob" data file to the version with the original "weathering" effects. One could easily see from the kristorf skins I used, according to the date he made them available for download, that my shots would have been made no earlier than 06-20-2012.

Sorry for the bad news Blennydude: not everyone can have them look like this. Luckily for the vast majority, they can't tell the difference anyway.

Well, I for one don't play the game anymore, the sandblasted weathering being one of many reasons why. No need to bash the game still, I'm glad a lot of people now seem happier than ever with the game, good for them.

It seems some people here would like to know how to put back the old weathering effet in the game. Could you please tell us?
