CloD will get better - just a matter of time and patience - and I'll be ready, hopefully with some new hardware by the time the patch arrives. Lots to look forward to.
Great that someone is having a good time with the game in the current state! If they succeed with the goals of the patch I guess your new hardware will not be needed though

Mmm, i'll go skiing WITH my family next week so I'm pretty sure they will do a surprise release of the patch so I can think of you enjoying it all week while I'm stuck in some avalanche Thinking of it, there always is a goal when you go fetch a new beer - so I have a strong feeling of patch release as I'll be gone 10 days starting Saturday morning

Yes its a hobby I have. Do you think I found one here?

Myself have over 420 hours in the game and bloody love it despite the bug there is. The more you fly it, the deeper it get, but just sitting here read about it and complain all the time don't make it better.

I've clocked up around 120+ hours now, I'd say around 100 of that is online either on ATAG or with II./JG53, the other 20 have been spent with FMB or otherwise getting things setup on my end.

Sure, there are issues with the game, and sure we have been waiting FAR TOO long for a patch to fix the launcher crashes but overall the game is most certainly playable and I;ve been having a lot of fun with it.

I only really visit here to see the updates and catch up on any eventful news with regards to the patches or BoM. Overall I don't participate in conversations here too often as it is just rehashing the same old tired arguements from a lot of people who don't actually spend that much time flying the sim but rather spend time on the forums making unconstructive posts.

Sure, Cliffs of Dover has had it's fair share of issues but for me it's been a great experience and as a group we are working around the bugs in the game to make sure we can progress our virtual campaign and above all enjoy flying together in a co-operative nature.

Each to their own though, I can understand why some may find CloD very fustrating at the moment, but from my viewpoint I think unless you put the time into the game at the moment you'll not be able to see the beauty that is present but just needs a bit of shining to make it what we all want it to be. Of course I get fustrated and irritated with it at times, but the amount of great fun I've had with the sim has just outweighed that immensely.

I tried to fly again last evening.

I really wanted to after posting in this thread.

ATAG server, I took off from Manston in my trusty Hurricane and flew to mid channel at about 10,000 ft. to intercept a flight of Ju 88s, made a pass on them and...

...launcher crash.

Less than 20 minutes.

Call me when it's done OK?

I am hoping for patch the last 2 month. I spent most time looking the forum for any news.

Do you use the .bat file to connect with? I'm not kidding in saying that we rarely have launcher crashes now. We all would have launcher crashes if we continued to fly sortie after sortie, sure. But to have one in 20 minutes sounds like you are pushing your resources a bit.

The majority of us have turned our resolution down a bit (saves on memory and tbh doesn't effect much visually other than you can see cons better), and I can fly sortie after sortie in a 109, running it out of fuel (from 100% at take-off) and never get one. The biggest thing, again, is using the .bat file, and restarting the game after every sortie (regardless if it's only 5 minutes). The .bat file makes it a 20 second process to reconnect/restart the game.

I know this is just avoiding the real problem, but the fact of the matter is we honestly rarely have launcher crashes by following this guideline. Obviously, we want a fix as bad as everyone else, but we can enjoy it now.

When last I tried your launcher it did not make any difference.

I realize that you guys go out of your way to be helpful, and I appreciate it, but disconnecting/reconnecting after every sortie, and lowering resolution, just to be able to play a title that has been in release for so long now is a band aid at best, and I just don't have the patience for it anymore.

The game should work now, it's been too long.

I still support the efforts of the deve team, and will purchase every new addition to the series.

But I'm done until the game works properly.

Life is short, time is precious, and I do this for fun, not as a second job.
