Giving ship to Empty Eyes in Greenwort

On the second encounter with Empty Eyes (Greenwort), which ship can be given to him? Have tried with a couple, but none have worked

Kitano won't sell me a boat. He tells me to talk to the captain of the guard about buying a boat, but the captain of the guard doesn't have any speech options about boats.

You need to talk to the Whaler man.... he will give you a SHIP. Not any boat will do, you need a SHIP. And you get it from the Whaler.

I have tried buying a ship from the whaler, but it didn't work. I am talking about Greenwort, not Vestlig.

You need to talk to Captain Renli to the left of Guilford's castle. That is after you have completed the Catch the Butterfly quest. He will have an option regarding ships.
