IL2 with 20gig of mods and everything maxxed works just fine, as does every other game I've tried, like COD MW3, Crysis games etc... Everything but COD works fine.... I don't think its a computer issue.. I keep checking back to see when it doesn't suck, and until then, I play modded IL2 happily - Just wish I hadn't spent full price on COD and given that to the modder sites instead.
I play 1946 modded with Ultrapack, looks great, plays great. Not sure whether it might be the card on ur machine. I got 2 cards in mine, a bog standard ati 7500 for mac side and a gtx 460 for windows side. Mac graphics cards always veer on the safe side of speed unfortunately. I think they slightly underclock em.

This is your problem. My brother had a similar card and updated to a 6950, and his slideshow turned into pretty smooth sailing.

So why are people with newer computers, i5 and i7 chips, going on about how bad it is and how the game is is dead.
Dont smoke that cheap stuff, it gets to your head!
