I asked the seller the size of the prop. She says each blade is 5 feet long. Hard to tell as there is no scale, but they don't look that long to me. She also said [and I am quoting exactly as written] "...thay came of the proter tipe whitch is at ducksford".

Hmmm

Try saying that one out loud. I got a pretty good laugh.

even if those are two single Spitfire propeller blades (which I still seriously doubt) from a 4 bladed set, the makeshift two blades prop layout is bogus enough to me..

...ducksford LOL

hahaha this gets even better!!

"Please send me ur phone number and email address so i may quote you as an expert regarding these blades, as you've made a claim that this item is not genuine and this is a fraudulent advert, which is incorrect. I intend to contact Christies quoting your phone number and email address if you can substantiate this claim as i have a receipt of purchase and letter in which Christies confirm this item is genuine. As you have made the allegation that this advert is fraudulent i will obviously be also contacting ebay themselves reguarding your comments and threats to report my listing.
I await your contact details,
Many thanks,"

LOLz

This is the second time this prop has been listed on ebay. The first time was about a year ago and it didn't sell. The asking price IIRC was about £3,000.00 !!

It's NOT from a Spitfire. But it's almost impossible to prove that the seller is dishonest. The defence would be 'I bought from a man who told me it eas from a prototype Spitfire' ...

Avoid!!

Best Regards,
MB_Avro

hehehe after I politely explained to her that what she had was not what she was saying, she started pestering me with messages lol

she actually sent me a message earlier that she managed to sell the prop, denial at its finest lol

I wonder how long before this piece of junk pops up on ebay again

Definitely a fake I'd reckon. Certainly wouldn't expect to see a functional prop made from such knotty, average quality timber either.
