As example, now is Monday 12.56 zulu and you have there 143 players with IL-2 1946 and other 24 in the chat.

Very much alive. Far more alive than online Cliffs of Dover currently!

I understand what you mean about the maps, but unless we're prepared to do them ourselves, we really shouldn't criticize!

Personally I'd love to see the version 4.10 soloman islands map being used more, also the slovakia maps.

We do seem to still have many of the original IL2 or FB/Pacific Fighters maps in use when there are far better quality ones available, but like I said, unless we're prepared..........

very much...with newly released ultrapack 3.0....IMHO 2-3 yrs will pass when CLOD will be so popular...if ever

While CloD is on Life Support having been born prematurely, IL2 1946 is very much a mature, caring and giving Parent who will be there to hold your hand for a long time.....and doesn't mind if you stay up late and fly with your mates online, without throwing a tantrum and crashing you to the desktop!

Thank you all for your comments of encouragement, this really cheered me up. In fact, after reading them I went straight to ebay and got myself a new copy of the legendary IL2 1946, for just £5.45 including delivery, now will hopefuly arrive before this weekend.
