Zakkandrachoff, the Ju88 airframes that have been used for the Mistel were generally so old and worn that they couldn't be used for normal duties anymore.

About the Do17: Amazing find! Can't wait to see that one being recovered!

I'd imagine there are plenty more wrecks like this, coming to light, as sonar improves, and more people are using it.

It's a race against time and elements really: a full scan of the Channel would bring up SO much stuff, it's just a prohibiting expensive thing to do
Unfortunately it's all down to the luck factor...

Ah so it's in salt water. That's terrible for duralumin and other alloys based on aluminum. I don't hope so, but it could break apart while they attempt to surface it. I once took pictures of the remains of a Jumo 211, found in the Waddenzee north of The Netherlands.

As you can read on page 1 of this thread:

...At around 13.40 hours the aircraft forcelanded
on Goodwin Sands off the eastern Kentish coast at low
tide. Of the four crew, two (Wounded Pilot Feldwebel Willi
Effmert, and Bomb Aimer Uffz Hermann Ritzel) became
Prisoners-of-War in Canada and two (27-year old Wireless
Operator Unteroffizier Helmut Reinhardt and 21-year old
Bomb aimer Gefreiter Heinz Huhn) were killed, their bodies
being recovered later and buried in Holland and the UK
(Cannock Chase German cemetery) respectively....

So no, there supposed to be no human remains in the wreck anymore.
