It is possible. I have done it like 20 times(not counting the 100 crashes it took to do so).

It's not easy at all, so I can't blame you for saying it's impossible. I have only done it on the runway.

I think one of the reasons I was able to belly land successfully, was because I broke my landing gear(on purpose) and the game let me belly land because of it.

The unfortunate thing is half the time after you belly land, the camera zooms out and then your plane blows up for no reason. So I hope this is only because it is in tutorial and campaign. Hopefully single and multiplayer work differently.
