The Allison Mustangs are never included because the most famous version of the Mustangs had bubble canopies and Merlin engines.

Same reason you don't see the P-38 in many of these games. Sure, they built more of it than any other Western fighter, but it wasn't as famous.

About the naming, in my opinion thats a pointless technicality that changes nothing. The aircraft is the same one whether they call it a P-51B or whatever else it is you want it to be called. (you didn't make that clear, to be honest)

Play IL2...couple of them in there. Only 10,000 build though. 1 or 2 more Spittys were built

Gah, my bad, meant the P-40 Warhawk. I used the Warhawk for an example because it had the same Allison engine that the early Mustangs did.
