Looks like its part of the frost effect to me in those pictures. I noticed it too. Nothing to worry about I think. unless really is some orange boxes. Never seen anything like described like that in the game. Unless it's when got the flash light on and the more orange glow of the light is making them seem orange?

Want to be certain could try just slightly changing position or slightly moving view but still with same stop in view and if spots stay where they are then they are part of the texture/effect and almost certainly not a symptom of gpu overheating or anything.
Or even just look at none frosted surfaces (on a heated room) and see if they still show

Heres something ironic after reading your PC's specs I am miffed, you run a Intel Core 2Quad Q9450, 4x2,66 GHz
4 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4870, 2 GB

And I only run a
Intel P4 3.4
1 GB Ram
ATI Radeon 3850 agp slot 512 mb

Now I have no probelms with the game it plays fast and has no glitches except on loading, its slow as a dead horse, but my graphics are all good.

Now I am not bragging but only trying to say maybe its that PhysX stuff, did you get the latest update for PhysX ???

BTW I am running the ATI Catalyst drivers 9.4 from thier site, what do you have and do you run anti virus stuff while playing ???
