guys change your config.ini and make these 2 settings are set to 0, this worked for me.
TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=0 TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=0 |

Changing these settings only got rid of the the weird glow inside the cockpit and outside when firing weapons. I too get the rainbow artifacting more so on the F4F vs G4M track then any other. This is the only game that I get this kind of behavior from this card (4870) which is annoying because I play it more than any other, but in saying this I can also confirm that after playing countless missions I have only got the artifacting a couple of time for only a fraction of a second while in the cockpit. I wonder if this could be addressed by ATI with a driver update.
