is this a bug: Find expert to decipher animals

There is a quest at the mage guild to fetch 3 animals (30 dragonflies, 10 royal snakes, 1 cyclops):

After I fetch the animals - if I click on the mage guild - they indicate they need an expert to decipher the animals and if I find one ....

I've nearly finished the game (in labyrinth) and have not seen any such expert.

This is the atari dvd version - 167?. I'm suspicious because they still ask for lost chronicals and lost town(even though these games have been completed).

I'd like to see this answered also. The mage at (home) can't decipher and sais help him find someone who can, or words to that effect.
