The fact that he not only said it, but went as far as to bold it shows that he believes they are/were lying..

Most likely a Freudian slip on his part, he may not even realize that deep down that is what he belives..

That is to say if you asked him in public (this forum) he would most likely answer no he does not belive they are lying..

That is the funny thing about Freudian slips, they tend to show all how you really feel..

Even if they don't realize it themselves!
