The sad thing is it is interchangeable...whether it is the game itself...the release schedule...the patch schedule...the lines of communication...the Readme for a beta patch...or answering questions...big or small...doesn't matter....there is no distinction....each as carefully plotted a fiasco as it is humanly possible to see. Not just a car-crash....one of those cars-down-ramps-with-crash-test-dummies-into-a-wall filmed at several thousand frames a second.....the abstractions of collision and recoil. The weird beauty in the thing. Last edited by Falstaff; 09-20-2012 at 05:58 PM. |

I'm calling hooey on this one too.
From the website whose only track record was printing the last fake, which incidentally was MUCH more believable than this - "I got a PM yesterday from a person I now consider to have inside knowledge of the project". Yeah, right. Did he provide your last scoop as well?Maybe it's a cunning piece of psychological propaganda designed to make Luthier hurry up with those damned answers?!

Would not surprise me if it is real. Wont put it past CLoD.
Makes more sense from a business standpoint. Look at all the PC games now that are MMO style. Seriously, take a quick glance at Steam. It seems the IL2 series is suffering a slow death either way it goes. |

Edit: What I mean is there is a huge customer base for people to buy non-MMO games. A lot of people who play free to play don't pay either. With 2 ww2 sims already out, it makes more sense to buck the trend and cater to those who will also play single player by keeping to the tested format. From the OP link:
"The game will enter alpha development in 2013 as long as it can pass a 'proof of concept' milestone before the end of the year" Let's hope it fails then!

Whether it is fake or not doesn't really matter (it probably is)...it's the fact it could be true, given the lack of clear information and time-lines.
Nothing can be ruled-out where this dev house is concerned, and equally, not much can be ruled-in. It just illustrates the general air of befuddlement. Where's another one of Luthier's 'omnirambles' when you need one? |
