Apparently in some version after the US 1.3 SR2 version, maybe Russian 1.4, they decided to encrypt the data files to prevent cheating since the Russian players maintain some sort of high score list.

So...there is no editor for Reboot because of this encryption.

I don't suppose there is any new word on this subject? Would it be possible to get something that can edit the eng.dat file for Reboot nowadays?

I'm still hoping for something to make life easier for 2.0 editing (and for text quest editing), but I'm plugging along. So, just for simplicity's sake, and in case anyone is interested I'll go ahead and put up the download links for the two separate eng.dat files for 2.0 and 1.3.

For now, I'm still catching up in the 2.0 one to where I was with the 1.3 file. Some space station text has been fixed up, as well as artifact descriptions. A few other miscellaneous things as well. Enjoy, . I'll post some progress replies here occasionally, for anything that seems particularly important.
