I'd want a plane that can do a bit of everything, so probably P-38 over the pacific.

Still fly when one engine is out for starters..really helpful when you're attacking groundtargets.
Plus I like how stable a counter-rotating prop aircraft is.
...and can the 190 carry rockets, 2x2000LBS bombs or droptanks to give it a massive range?

Something like that, either as a Typhoon or as the 190, i really like the whole channel front idea with Rhubarb missions in overcast weather.

Alternative choice, the night bombing campaign over Europe. Pathfinder Mosquito or a LW night fighter, preferrably a Ju88, because i just love those multi-role birds. I could also see myself in a Lancaster.
The reason i like this is because it would be like playing a combination of IL2 and silent hunter: you get to fly airplanes, but you are blind most of the time and you have to play the whole cat and mouse game with sensors just like in a submarine sim, it's just that things happen faster. Plus, it's probably the only combination of theater/scenario that has never been implemented in a flight sim.

1943
European Western Front
FW-190A6.

1944
Germany Home Defence
FW-190D9

1944
Russian Front
FW-190 F8

And a quite fascinating one on top of it, there was a whole war solely relying on electronics between the UK and Germany back then. Hardly covered, yet the basics of every air defense system these days.
