Actually, composing questionable war poetry on the online chat is a useful diversion while we RoF bomber pilots struggle to persuade an R.E.8 that it is capable of climbing faster than the grass growing under it, so we can at least cross the front with sufficient altitude to not hear the flak gunners laughing at us. I seem to remember composing something on the esteemed Harry Tate online yesterday -I'll see if I can find it in the chat logs.

Edit - found it:

R.E.8

The pilot flew between the clouds, in his lumbering R.E.8
The gunner felt a little 'eeugh' - the turbulence was great

The pilot headed to the ground - "I think I'll land just there"
The gunner cheered and hopped right out, to change his underwear.
