It's a bug in the latest beta where certain RAF aircraft engines are 'too cold' and wont start as usual. Hurricanes are deffinatley effected and I had heard the Spit1 is also; the Spit 1a and Spit 2a are ok and start as normal. For those aircraft effected you can apparently spam the start button and eventually they will warm up enough to start up (usually around 20 minutes or so) or you can airstart (yes it sucks but the devs should know about it).

I dont know if its quicker but I read elsewhere on here and now start the spit and hurris by turning on boost cut out, rich mixture coarse pitch and then giving full throttle. If you then hammer the ignition key and watch the oil temp gauge the enigines on both planes will start up at an indicated 22°C. The engine will start to run longer each start at this temp and finally run up. Once its going remember to open the rad up and turn off the boost cut out and wait a little bit for the oil to hit 40°C and then you are good to go

I get engine off text every time I try starting any of the spits on the ground.
When I do a quick mission I am able to shut of the engine and fire back up. Too tired and must sleep before I try the procedure mentioned above. I hope it works. |

It's a known bug which, according to the latest Friday update, has been corrected and the fix will be in the next patch.
