I was in the same boat, and only took the plunge after the hotfix was released as I was intrigued by what I was reading (plus the ATAG beta-patch-hotfix server always had loads of people on it).

I havent bothered to compare FPS, but I will say that the game looks so much nicer for me, plus the biggest improvement is how much better/easier it is to spot planes and identify as friend or foe at a further distance.

Game runs smooth for me, but it did on before I installed the beta patch + hotfix.

There are however some graphical issues (seeing runway taxi lights via the cockpit) and sometimes the mirror pops up even when its disabled. Enjoying the game alot more now (plus I dont get a memory leak that caused my game to stutter to a crash).

The mirrors re-enable themselves with low res textures whenever my ac suffers some physical damage, even light damage seems to cause this. If I zoom in and out a few times the mirrors and textures return to normal and I can disable them.

the mirrors don't re-enable themselves... its more like... instead of the damage texture, it shows the low-res mirror texture when u get hit... completely 2d flat mirror with no actual mirror... if you try to disable that 2d flat mirror, the 3d one pops up... then when u disable the 3d one the 2d one comes back... but i haven't been able to get rid of the mirror once i get hit and the 2d mirror shows up, my framerates take a hit and i gotta land it...

Hi Zerty...I had this also when I'd accidently changed my ingame screen resolution to one the monitor didn't support. Might be worth having a play with the resolution to see if the same thing.

I have the same issue and this appears because CloD isn't compatible yet with our GUIs (hence with our DX 10).
If you want to play with this game, you have to go in conf.ini file and editing the line renderD3D10_0 in renderD3D9, hit close and save! You will play at clod but you can't see the improvments of this patch (devs haven't put the DX9 support yet).
Bye
