I'm inclined to agree with Dutch and ElAurens. There is a pattern of behavior with luthier to bite off much more than he can chew and leave things incomplete. After a cursory stab at the eastern front and a smattering of aircraft types, they'll move on to something else. Rinse and repeat.

The market does not give any other choice really. Try to persuade Activision or EA that development of a WWII flightsim can be profitable.

This is the best team in the world that is ready to work on a WWII sim and we are lucky the project was not closed 1 year ago or this morning.

After long and hard engine rewrite the things are just starting to turn to a bright side. B6 mentioned that they target more patches for CloD. Extra contents is to be done by the community of cause. No other choice.

There are not many high quality flight-sim programmers in Russia. Move to Moscow and apply to 1C if you are very good and very inexpensive

I believe the OP meant to agree with constant communication, on an optimist note.

How did this thread get dragged into the usual whine fest?

Carguy, I agree that communication is getting better.

I just have lost hope that this entire franchise will ever work. I'm not talking about just CloD. How can they move on to another theater when they are no closer, in reality, to having a stable game engine?

It's just taking too long.

The publisher will not continue to throw money at this project.

It's just my opinion of course, but I don't see any other outcome.

I'm not happy about it, nor am I gloating or glad, like some here are.

The game is very very stable for me since the beta patch.

It still has rough edges sure but I am really enjoying it I just don't have the time ATM

I don`t see anything wrong with your first post, other than it is offtopic. I could copy it and paste as my own. Writing down facts is not whining.

I always wondered why you need to repeatedly write this, as an offtopic in another thread. I thought we have the Crystal Ball thread for this. Maybe this is news for you, but I also am losing any faith. The results are too small as opposed to the time they took. I may just write few lines about it in a whine topic. But since this thread was meant to be positive, why you need to break it up I don`t understand.
Sometimes I think that people do not have enough imagination to know that the biggest losers, day by day, are the 1C team working on CloD. BlackSix wrote that CloD is their lives and I don`t see anything false in that. When you depend on your work and you can`t get the results you wanted it is frustrating. A whole lot more than any of the appointed whiners on this forum. But they`re trying. If they make it, you`re going to finally get you moneys worth. What is wrong with supporting getting to have your moneys worth?
If CloD fails, the whiners will have another topic to write about, maybe it will ruin their day. Some might even shoot somebody as losing 40$ (equal to a cheap dinner) poses so many woes to some on this forum. The 1C team will lose their jobs, money for a living. They have already lost 95% of Oleg Maddox` credibility. I don`t see how you could even think of comparing the two.
