This last sentence is not true it is not worse it is simply not better. I never have any crash of my system or of the launcher or maybe a long time ago before the first patch.
I think this patch is made to correct the most obvious errors with some planes modeling errors and for making this game more afordable to mid range PC's. Do not forget also this is not the final version of the patch.
Give the DEV. team some time to make all this work. It is not a easy task. We are far from the 320x200 pixels from 1989 "Their finest hour" from "Lucasfilm".
