In the old days I used also a stick-out-thingy for my Trackir2 reflector. Attached to the top of the headset headband, it stuck out in front with the reflector on the end to improve the sensitivity. "Dick-head" came to mind, as my then 12 year old daughter pointed out
It was also used by other IL-2'ers I know but I won't name them

The Pro Clip is only a waste of money if you're incurably clumsy, the benefits far outweigh the need to be careful with it. It could of course be better designed and made of aluminium I suppose.

There was a picture in the IL2 1946 EXTRAs DVD. It had one of the developers with a strange looking Track IR reflector which reminded me of a small serving spoon dangling on his nose. I always wondered how that worked. It was before 6Dof, and now that that is incorporated into the game, what does he use now?

I have had my trackIR5 for 2years at least and my cats love to nibble on the ends where the light emitting diodes are. But no break or damage yet.

I do treat them with care. The Pro clip not the cats... Furry buggers! get into everything.
