Here's what I came up with for my Freetrack setup, you could probably do the same for your track ir, it's made of good ol' fashion wood with some velcro.

There was a picture in the IL2 1946 EXTRAs DVD. It had one of the developers with a strange looking Track IR reflector which reminded me of a small serving spoon dangling on his nose. I always wondered how that worked. It was before 6Dof, and now that that is incorporated into the game, what does he use now?

I have had my trackIR5 for 2years at least and my cats love to nibble on the ends where the light emitting diodes are. But no break or damage yet.
I do treat them with care. The Pro clip not the cats... Furry buggers! get into everything.
