They have to evaluate probably many more variables than we can think of before making an official statement.
We'll know someday....
If they have shelved CoD (temporarily or not) for a sequel, they sure would not admit it. That would kill the sequel sales. The only way a sequel could sell is with the hope CoD is fixed. I will buy the sequel only after CoD is fixed.

No one knows when the patch is coming but it will be worth the wait for sure, Luthier as said that we will get a 50% performance increase and then theres always the surprise he has promised us that will blow our socks off something that as never been seen before apparently. No pressure then Luthier.

Ive tried the campain and find it very dull , just single missions , its a shame this has been a disapointment for me , to get my kicks i go back to il-2 ultra3..and fly online , also DCS_A10...awsome ..im so surprised this has been going for six years , i paid £30.00 for this and still not good enough to fly ..please keep the hard work up , but if this is shelved ill ask for a refund ..promise ..ill want my money back ..fed up with big fat cat bosses taking money off the poor ..

I've heard from very reliable source the next sequel will be IL-2 Sturmovik: Angry Birds. The flyables are modeled from the most vocal banana forum members!

Cheers!

Whattahell, this forum could be renamed already IL-2 Sturmovik: Angry Birds!

Sutts, believe me, I'm pleased for you mate, enjoy, and the sky is not falling down as far as I'm concerned,as there are so many other things I enjoy rather than flying COD,so life's great buddy.

It's just that for me personally the enthusiasm of COD is ebbing away, and not seeing anything to exite me from the devs does'nt help that, sorry if that is negative to some, but the responses from 1C are hardly positive.

If they wish to remain quiet that is their business,as is mine losing interest

Psychologically the only reason for people's disappointment (and whining) is a gap between too high expectations and reality. I would not expect that much from the upcoming patch till I witness a beta.

I do not remember Luthier saying or promising the above. I think he said they hope or trying to get these results or working on these features. This is very different from saying we will get something or promising something especially in Russia.

At least 50% of whining here happens because of too high expectations which are everyone's own personal responsibility imho.

BTW these 2 links can be used to get most recent updates from the devs directly:
- Luthier http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/search....archid=2305661
- BlackSix http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/search....archid=2305666

Mods can make a sticky with them to avoid repetitive threads.

Well, I dont totally agree with this one...We have been shown many many features in the course of the past 5 years...Dynamic weather, pilot's bailout animation, highly detailed lighting, leaked videos with better visuals thant what we have today, and many visual effects that were shown as part of the " developpement updates"...
Remember that Oleg was there every Fryday and was himself presenting those features as 'included' in the game...Go back to earlier photo buckets and you will find some gems in there. And compare with today's version...
Oleg did promise (!) Cinematic Photorealistic visuals...So good it would be used in upcoming movies as the new code would be a great tool for movie makers.
So the high expectations were not ours 2 years ago...They were Oleg's.

Salute !
