Well I don't know if I'd call that error normal, but yeah, it's common and happens to everyone.
@salmo - are you running the server from the same machine you play on? Same steam account as well? Either one of those could be your problem with disconnects. If so, does your system ever hibernate? The timeout's are only caused by losing connection to the internet (for the server) if only for a split second. I'd say something on your end is dropping the connection. Also, there's no reason to delete the cache, unless you are running the server via in-game gui / not the console. |

1. Yes, I'm running server & game playing on same machine. 2. No, different steam a/c for me & the server. 3. No, system does not hibernate. 4. "The timeout's are only caused by losing connection to the internet (for the server) if only for a split second. I'd say something on your end is dropping the connection. " - My proxy server (also hosting a forum) does not change IP & I do not lose internet connection myself, suggesting the issue is with COD itself not the internet connection. Just the COD server throwing above error & removing itself from COD multiserver list. ![]() Cheers Sal

Well I don't know what to tell you. If the server has lost it's connection to the internet (steam servers) that's the only reason it would stop showing up. The static IP portion has nothing to do about it. I'd grab a tool that can monitor your network and you'll probably see it momentarily drops for some reason.
On the other hand, as a client, you could unplug your modem, go fix your self a drink, plug back in your modem, and you'd never get disconnected from the server you were playing on. But the server is screwed once this happens. |
