Default cant get past splash screens

Troll2K>>>THANK YOU for your response! YES! I believe your observation is correct that this issue has something to do with improper rendering of DirectX components.
However, my mistake is the NVidia driver is actually GeForce8200M G...
-dxdiag stating system is under DirectX11
-UNICODE and diagnostics---"NO PROBLEMS FOUND"
-DDI version---10BGRA supported=YES
-DDRAW status-ENABLED
-D3D status-ENABLED
-AGP status-ENABLED
-SOUND DRIVER---ConexantCHDRT32.Sys>>>version---4.58.0000.0000---date6/05/08---size---222,208 bytes
-HWAccelLevel--basic---NOTE---using basic built-in speakers---nothing fancy---there don't seem to be any sound issues---HOWEVER!!!-there is no music or clicking sound when I hit the mouse cursor---I believe the problem also has been subtracting certain basic "between" screen sounds that are supposed to be there---of course, if I don't hear it ,I don't exactly know what is absent.

QUESTION>>>If this is indeed a DirectX issue how do I correct it? Re-install loads all the DirectX components but it seems that the wrong variant is being rendered>>>THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!
