This is just a baked in texture. The glass could certainly do with a bit of cube mapped reflection of a sky or something. Right now you only get only part of a glass like effect on the dials (from the pilot 'reflection'). It looks a bit corny as is to be honest.

In my opinion it would be awesome if the canopy shadow you can see sometimes on your planes wing would contain the pilots shadow.
I understand totally that the pilot itself shouldn't/needn't be modelled cause of the more difficult gauge and controls-visibility.
But a pilots shadow strenghtens the imagination of really sitting in this plane ^^

I've noticed Pilots shadows on the Tiger Moth.

Its a secret portal, whatever you do, do not PRESS on the dial while in flight, you will be automatically time warped to a parallel dimension in which this flight sim actually works as was promised.

====note..the above has been spell checked, grammar checked, and has been approved by the appropriate censoring officials...this is NOT a nonsensical rant====

It's just my opinion. Plenty of other sims have managed a reasonable representation of glass in cockpit, without worrying about a static player reflection texture. To me it just looks weird, maybe especially as you can look down in your seat and see nobody there. I would much rather something more like this...

What I'm saying shouldn't be too hard to understand. The problem is a lack of reflected movement across the surface of the dial when ingame. As a still image, sure it looks something like glass, but in game, the illusion is broken because the reflection never changes. I guess you could argue that since the pilot isn't going anywhere, then the reflection should remain static... but it is the world around the plane which should be reflected, and using something like a cubemap for this is, imo, a better look.
