Red face A very sad day

He was a very tough boss and a despot (note Ilya). Though what he achieved for the IT world will always be remembered.

A man dies and it is terrible.
A million dies and we do not care!

A stupid gadget is more important than people loosing their home ore their jobs?

This is not the place to discus this or to pay tribute to this man good or bad.

Feel sorry for his family. On the other hand, why were there no mention of all those Chinese factory workers at Foxconn (component supplier for Apple) who were driven to suicide thanks to the awful working conditions? Guess some people are more important than others....

"A stupid gadget"? I'm afraid your view on the innovation introduced by Apple in the last 10 years is very narrow.

Having said this, your rethoric of "one man vs million men" is a bit out of place for an obituary thread, don't you think?

As for the place, I agree, I started a thread in the Off Topic section, but please, let's have some respect.

I find it interesting that there is a thread about Steve Jobs passing, to me it shows just how many people respected what he had accomplished.

Sternjaeger:
This was a nice thread to start, but I think you should have known this was just going to be another flame war on this forum. Very little respect is shown to anyone here, living or dead.

I will refrain from my usual anti-apple ranting, it is sad to hear of someone going before their time. Closer to my heart though;

R.I.P. Graham Dilley

R.I.P. to the other 100K folks who died yesterday also.

It's frankly shocking how some people have no sense of respect and need to hijack a serious thread with their agendas..

I really think it's true when they say the internet takes the worst out of us
