When I fly the Blenheim I have damage on as it seems that I only have to look at a gauge or control in the wrong way for one or the other or sometimes both engines to suffer internal damage. Based in the information in the 1939 RAF Pilot Notes for the Blenheim IV I would say the engine modelling in COD is too sensitive to damage through overheating or over revving. For all other aircraft I leave the damage window off.
