I tried it again, with headphones. The whisteling is more pronounced but on flybies I have the feeling that it sometimes gets swallowed by a muffled engine sound. I can't describe it perfectly though.
But then again, this is all beta and the new sound is certainly awesome. I will try to describe it better when the final patch is here.
